The 2025 Conference on Land Policy in Africa opened in Addis Ababa with UNECA chief Claver Gatete urging reforms to global finance, stronger land governance and renewed engagement with the African diaspora. Speaking in historic Africa Hall, he called for measures to address inequality, secure land rights and build fairer systems that support Africa’s development and resilience.
